My Shadow or Me

Veni Vidi Vici was said

many times before

used and reused like the combs and 

makeup at a party yet

every time in a different 

coat 

Clothes make the man or

so they say we dress ouselfs

to perfection or see no point

Last night I was hauted to 

sleep followed by numbers 

till I lost count yet dressed in

aubergine and silk I seemed

more interesting than

in yeans and pony tail

the way I look is just a 

shadow of who i am 

I love my friends who see

through that and still find my 

charming as my sloppy pants

and ponytail wearing self
